REV. JOHN PARK, NEW WORSHIPPING COMMUNITIES COORDINATOR
The Rev. John Park is the Coordinator of the New Worshipping Communities for the Presbytery of the Northwest Coast. Born and raised as a PCUSA PK (pastor’s kid), he spent his youth in S. Korea, Nigeria, and five different states in the US, which led him to experience a wide and rich cultural diversity. Being bilingual and bicultural in Korean, he has served in various ministry contexts, such as cultural ministry director, pastor for 1st and 2nd gen. Korean Americans, and voluntary works at the presbytery.
John holds a B.A. in Media Production from Calvin College, M.A. in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary, and MDiv from Columbia Theological Seminary.
When he is off from serving God’s people, John is still serving his boss (wife Sonia) and 3 girls (Ellie, Lenah, Zia) at home; mostly cooking steak, belaying her daughters to rock climb, setting up camping equipment for them to enjoy the PNW.
